Why this matters now

Vaccines are a proven way to prevent serious diseases, but not enough people are getting them. That puts all of us at greater risk, especially young children and older adults.

It’s completely normal to have questions. That’s why Shared Health Minnesota provides straightforward, trustworthy information you can use in real life. Whether you’re chatting with a neighbor at the lake or replying to a comment in a local Facebook group, we make it easier to talk about health and share facts with confidence.

What health challenges is Minnesota facing?

Over the past few years, Minnesota has seen a rise in vaccine-preventable illnesses.

In 2024, a measles outbreak in Minnesota led to more than 50 confirmed cases, many in young children. In 2025, the number of measles cases in the U.S. hit the highest levels in more than 30 years. Whooping cough cases are climbing, and flu and COVID-19 continue to affect people across age groups. At the same time, fewer kids are up to date on important vaccines, putting themselves and their communities at risk.

Shared Health Minnesota helps you keep up with the news, tune out the noise, and focus on what matters—keeping your family and community safe.
